Support Network (Education services for non-Chinese speaking students)
Under the co-ordination of EDB, eight schools which admitted a greater number of non-Chinese speaking students formed a learning support network, known as the Support Network (Education Services for non-Chinese Speaking Students) in January 2004. This is to promote the mutual support among the schools through experience sharing and enhance the interest and ability of non-Chinese speaking students in learning Chinese Language. A more effective learning environment will be created as a result and these students will adapt to and integrate into our community more quickly. Schools in the Support Network share their experience on a regular basis. Sharing sessions on topics of common interest (e.g. how to develop school-based curriculum for Chinese Language education) are conducted so that teachers can share their experience and draw reference from the experience of experts and fellow teachers.
At present, there are 71 schools joining the Support Network, including 58 primary schools and 13 secondary schools.
