The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) and the Education Bureau (EDB) will hold the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (LPAT) annually. |
|
|
The HKEAA will administer the oral & pen-and-paper parts of the Assessment. The part on Classroom Language Assessment (CLA) will be administered by the EDB. |
|
|
The English LPAT comprises five papers. They are Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking and CLA. |
|
|
The Putonghua (PTH) LPAT comprises four papers. They are Listening and Recognition (聆聽與認辨), Pinyin (拼音), Oral (口試) and CLA (課堂語言運用). |
|
|
Any teacher not teaching English/PTH or any member of the public satisfying the entry requirement for the LPAT can enter for all the papers except the CLA. |
|
|
For the CLA, in addition to the English/PTH teachers holding a permanent / non-permanent post in local public sector schools or private primary/secondary day schools offering a full curriculum, teachers holding a permanent post who previously taught English/PTH and have not met the LPR by their deadlines may also enter for it if their schools would allow them access to two lessons in the relevant subject for assessment purposes. All CLA applicants must ensure that they can provide live classroom situations in the assessing period so that their performance can be assessed. |
