Self-financing local programmes

Since the announcement of the Government's policy objective and a series of support initiatives to enable 60% of our young generation to have access to post-secondary education in 2000/01, we have witnessed significant development in the provision of programmes at the sub-degree level and above by local institutions on a self-financing basis. Notably, we now have a dynamic and responsive post-secondary sector that offers a wide range of education opportunities meeting the unique aspirations, interests and abilities of our students.

To facilitate the long-term and sustainable development of the sector, we have launched a dedicated IPASS (web link : www.ipass.gov.hk) website to promote enhanced transparency and easy access of information by members of the community. With the strong support rendered by various stakeholders, particularly in providing detailed institutional / programme-specific information for inclusion in the website, IPASS serves as an important source of reference for our students, parents and other interested parties to have a better understanding on the up-to-date development of the sector.
