Background
The Education Bureau (EDB) has been providing education support for non-Chinese speaking students studying in publicly-funded schools offering the local curriculum to facilitate their integration into the society. In this regard, we have put in place specific measures, one of which is the administration of the GCSE (Chinese) Examination in Hong Kong through the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA).
GCSE (Chinese) Examination starting from 2011
Starting from 2011, the Edexcel International, the awarding board of the London GCSE Examination, has implemented the revised examination specifications for the GCSE (Chinese) Examination. The HKEAA conducted a two-day briefing-cum-workshop on the revised assessment and related administrative arrangements on 9 and 10 July 2010. For details, please refer to the EDB Circular Memorandum No. 97/2010 issued on 1 June 2010.
