Assist children in obtaining first interview for admission to public sector schools up to Secondary 3 within 7 working days
Arrange admission for children to public sector schools up to Secondary 3 within 21 working days
Refer children with special educational needs for placement in special schools within 14 working days
Issue teacher registration certificates or teaching permits within 25 working days (December to August) and 27 working days (September to November)
Issue transcripts and testimonials to students of the former Colleges of Education and the Institute of Language in Education within 12 working days
Effect payment of provident fund within 28 working days (August to September) and 23 working days (October to July)
Complete processing of applications for keeping open provident fund account within 11 working days
Issue a Certificate of Provisional Registration of A School to the school concerned within 10 working days when all required information and documents are received and found in order
Complete processing of applications for fee increase from primary and secondary private independent schools within 10 working days
In case of tropical cyclones or persistent rain affecting the safety of students, announce the closure of schools before 6:15 a.m. for morning classes, before 11:00 a.m. for afternoon classes and before 6:00 p.m. for evening classes
