[Archive] Supplementary School Allocation Exercise 2002 (Whole-day Conoversion)

 

Whole-day Primary Schools

Allocation of schools will be considered by an independent School Allocation Committee (SAC) PDF (6 KB) comprising officials from the Education Department and non-officials, some of whom are from the education sector. For its power and function, please see Terms of Reference PDF (20 KB).

 

Submission of proposal: Please send us 15 copies of conversion proposals with 1 copy of supporting documents on or before 15 October 2002. They can be submitted by electronic means, i.e. CD-ROM or diskettes.

Note:

1.

Adoption of standard or non-standard design will depend on various factors including technical feasibility and time availability.Schools adopting non-standard design will be provided with facilities same as 2000 standard design schools.

2.

Availability and completion date of school premises are subject to various factors including technical feasibility study, planning approval, public consultation, availability of funding and funding approval of Finance Committee under Legislative Council.

3.

This school will be able to share facilities such as football pitch with the neighbouring school.

4.

This primary school may be paired up with the nearby secondary school and allocated to the same sponsor to facilitate “through train” arrangement.

# The six former school premises will only be released to existing bi-sessional primary schools for conversion to whole-day operation after removal of users in mid/late 2006 tentatively. The exact scope of work, for example, scale of internal renovation, is subject to technical feasibility.
