About STEAMLearning & Teaching ResourcesProfessional Development ProgrammesStudent ActivitiesVideosRelated Links

STEAM education in Hong Kong is designed for all students (i.e. STEAM for All). It is implemented through the curricula for science, mathematics and technology at primary and secondary levels, which enables students to engage in fun and diversify “hands-on and minds-on” cross-disciplinary learning activities both within and beyond the classroom, such as scientific investigation, project learning, design and make.  These activities aim to enhance students' interest in STEAM / innovation and technology (I&T) related fields, strengthen their ability to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills from different disciplines to solve real-world problems, and further foster their innovativeness.

With the rapid development of technology today, we need to further enhance students' learning in I&T, guiding them to make good use of digital tools (including artificial intelligence) while strengthening their computational thinking and modelling capability.  At the same time, we promote “Technology for Good” to enhance students’ media and information literacy, to cultivate students’ ability to use digital technology effectively and ethically.

Furthermore, on the basis of “STEAM for all”, we must also proactively identify and nurture students with STEAM potential (i.e. STEAM for Talents).  By providing them with diverse and challenging advanced learning opportunities, we will continue to cultivate more I&T talents for both our Country and Hong Kong.
