[Archive] At the Legislative Council sitting in Moving New Clause 26A of of the Education (Amendment) Bill 2000

Speech by Mrs Fanny Law,the Secretary for Education and Manpower in Moving New Clause 26A of of the Education (Amendment) Bill 2000 on 4 April 2001

Madam Chairman,

I move that new clause 26A be added to the bill. The clause is a consequential amendment to regulation 102(2). At present, contravening regulation 87 is an offence and is subject to penalties stipulated under regulation 102(2). Under clause 25(a) of the Bill, the existing regulation 87 will be renumbered regulation 87(2). Consequently, reference to "regulation 87" in regulation 102(2) has to be replaced by reference to "regulation 87(2)".
