Salary Assessment in Aided Schools

Aided schools have the responsibility to assess the salaries of staff paid under the Salaries Grant in accordance with the stipulations in the Codes of Aid and Guides to Salary Assessment.  EDB would verify the salary assessment made by schools as soon as possible.  In case the salary assessment made by an aided school is determined to be incorrect, the SMC / IMC of the school should be responsible for the arrangement of rectifying any overpayment or underpayment with the staff concerned.

However, due to the huge number of salary assessment cases received in particular in the commencement of each school year, we may take quite some time to complete the verification.  Therefore, schools must study the Guides to Salary Assessment before they assess the salaries of teachers / non-teaching staff  and assess the salaries in a cautious and prudent manner.

Teachers / non-teaching staff concerned may refer to the Codes of Aid and Guides to Salary Assessment to understand about the details of salary assessment in aided schools.
