In line with the country's latest developments and the school curriculum, the Education Bureau (EDB) has been providing students with opportunities for Mainland exchange and study tours. This enables students to gain first-hand experience of the achievements of our country in different aspects from multiple perspectives, consolidate and deepen what they have learnt in class, enhance their understanding of our country, and strengthen their sense of national identity. Every year, the EDB provides 100 000 exchange quotas, which are sufficient for all students in publicly funded schools to participate in at least one subsidised MEP each in their primary and secondary stages. Furthermore, starting from the 2022/23 school year, the EDB kick-started the CS Mainland study tours to tie in with the CS curriculum. All senior secondary students taking local curriculum in publicly funded schools will be fully subsidised to participate in CS Mainland study tours organised by the EDB once. Since the full resumption of travel between Hong Kong and the Mainland, a total of more than 200 000 students have taken part in the MEPs and CS Mainland study tours to experience the country’s latest development and achievements, broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of our country, and nurture their sense of patriotism.
The EDB attaches great importance to students’ learning outcomes in the Mainland exchange programmes and study tours. To further promote the educational benefits, the EDB encourages schools to share video clips related to these experiences, in order to showcase students’ experiences and insights.
