Creative Use of English

Promoting the creative use of English helps enrich and extend students’ language learning experiences. A variety of learning and teaching resources (e.g. animated videos, digital learning platform, posters and activity sheets) have been developed to support schools in incorporating the learning and teaching of the creative use of English into the English Language curriculum and to facilitate students’ self-directed learning.

These resources cover a range of key aspects of the creative use of English, such as vivid and precise word choice, sensory language, literary devices, and indirect characterisation. They can be used flexibly to enhance students’ awareness and understanding of creative English and help them apply the relevant skills effectively.
