1. The Competition
The Education Bureau has commissioned the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology, The Education University of Hong Kong to organise the "Mathematical Modelling Competition for Secondary School Students" (hereinafter referred to as the "Competition" or "MMCSS"). The Competition is a part of the Programme on “Promoting Mathematical Modelling for Teachers and Students in Secondary School”. It is NOT a part or selection procedure of the International Mathematical Modelling Challenge.
In the competition, students are required to demonstrate their understanding in Mathematical Modelling and applications of Mathematics in solving a problem based on real-life scenario.
