Community Youth Club (CYC)

Annual Parade

The Annual Parade 2024 was successfully held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium on January 11, 2024. It was a significant day for uniting CYC members from the 18 Districts. Three awards were presented during the ceremony: the Level 3 (Purple and Pastel Purple) Badges and Honour Level (Blue, White, and Red Stars) Badges to outstanding members under the CYC Members Award Scheme, medal awards under the Awards of Honours Scheme to principals and teachers who had enthusiastically promoted social services and CYC activities throughout the years, as well as Team Awards for schools that had actively participated in CYC activities in the previous school year.

We were honored to have Mr. SZE Chun Fai, Jeff, JP, Under Secretary for Education, as the Guest of Honour, along with Ms. CHAN Chin Woon, Cynthia, Principal Assistant Secretary of the Education Bureau, Mr. HUI Chi-fung, Principal Education Officer of the Education Bureau, Prof. SONG Lai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Youth Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, Mr. Luk Ka-fai, and Ms. YIP Mei-lun, Director and representative of the Lions Club International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macau, China, as guests of the event.

This year, 23 principals and teachers were presented with medal awards under the Awards of Honours Scheme. Additionally, 111 schools received the Team Awards, and more than 400 CYC members attained Level 3 and Honour Level badges. Apart from the award presentations, the live march-in music by the symphonic band, the modern dance performance and the lion dance performance echoing this year's theme 'Civic responsibilities we fulfill; a brighter tomorrow we build,' spiced up the event. These performances captivated both the guests and the audience.
