Love Our Home, Treasure Our Country

Background

The Education Bureau took the lead in launching the “Love Our Home, Treasure Our Country” series of joint school national education activities in government schools in the 2022/23 school year.  Since its implementation, the “Love Our Home, Treasure Our Country” series of activities has developed into signature joint school national education activities in the school sector, involving the participation and support of school sponsoring bodies, school councils and stakeholders, fostering the collaboration among the school sector and different stakeholders to leverage synergies.  Starting from the 2025/26 school year, the “Love Our Home, Treasure Our Country” series of activities would be regularised and popularised, striving to foster patriotic education in schools through collaboration across school sponsoring bodies and among schools, so as to further enhance students’ national identity and cultural confidence.

Introduction on “Love Our Home, Treasure Our Country” emblem

The emblem, designed by Information Services Department, is in the form of a heart, with an embracing gesture.  Its front and back embrace different landmarks.  On one side, it embraces the Bank of China Tower, International Finance Centre and Central Plaza which represent Hong Kong — our home.  On the other side, it embraces the Great Wall, the Temple of Heaven, and Central Radio and Television Tower which represent our country — China.  Together, these architectural silhouettes illustrate the concept of “home and country as one”.  Besides, the colour scheme of the emblem, which features primarily brick red and orange, coupled with its heart-shaped composition, symbolises our heartfelt passion, care, and devotion to both Hong Kong and our country.  The overall design conveys the message that our home and our country are always held close to our hearts.
