Serving as External Reviewers

To enhance the transparency of External School Review (ESR) and facilitate the professional growth of school personnel, the Education Bureau (EDB) has implemented the programme of Collegial Participation in ESR, whereby serving principals and vice principals in public sector schools and schools under the Direct Subsidy Scheme will participate in ESR as External Reviewers (ERs). Drawing on their frontline professional experience in providing quality education, ERs provide an added perspective to ESR. Relevant training will be provided to equip ERs with essential knowledge and skills. ERs have to meet the required qualifications before taking up the duties. Applications for serving as ERs are open annually in November. The application period was closed on 27 February 2026 this year.
