ESDA - Overview of Functions

The core functions of ESDA are embraced in the following seven main component modules:

1. System Tools

The System Tools provides a set of tools for the System Administrators to manage the system-level setting (i.e. System Setting, School Year Setting, System Backup, System Update, and System Log).

2. User Management

Administrators may use the functions in “User Management” for managing and organising the users’ information, such as importing user list, resetting users’ password, and setting group privilege.

3. Survey Management

Administrators may use the functions to administer and publish Stakeholder Survey (SHS), Assessment Program for Affective and Social Outcomes (APASO), and inspection related surveys. Administrators can also conduct the surveys online, offline, or mixed online and offline based on the school situation.

4. Data Import

“Date Import” allows users to input Key Performance Measures (KPM) data directly through the web interface of ESDA. ESDA can validate the data types and the valid ranges of the values on entry.

5. Report Management

This function module is mainly designed to provide reports for SHS, APASO, KPM items, and School-based surveys to facilitate the analysis of data. The results are displayed in the form of tables and statistical charts.

6. Data Submission

Schools can use the “Data Submission” module to submit survey results in SHS and KPM data to the EDB.

7. School-based Survey Management

Administrators may use this module to design the school-based surveys and publish the surveys via the “Survey Management” module. Schools may also view the survey results via the “Report Management” module.
