1. Learning Activity Highlights

Opening Ceremony
Upon arriving in Guangzhou, the participants attended the opening ceremony, where representatives from the College of Teacher Education at South China Normal University and the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delivered welcome speeches. The participants were encouraged to actively engage in the studies and make the most out of the exchange opportunities, marking the official launch of a series of learning activities.

Thematic Talks
To deepen participants' understanding of national education policies and the latest trends in educational development, the Study Tour featured thematic seminars on "National Basic Education Policy" and "Digitalization in Education". These seminars were delivered by scholars and experts from South China Normal University, which aimed to equip participants with cutting-edge insights and to broaden their horizons. They offered in-depth analyses of the strategic direction of basic education and the trends and practices of digital transformation in education of the country.

School Visits
To foster exchange between participants and teachers from Mainland schools, visits were arranged to schools in Guangzhou or nearby areas. Depending on the timing of the Study Tour, participants visited Tianhe Foreign Language School, Guangzhou International Primary School Baiyun ZWIE, Gongdu Elementary School and Shiying Experimental International School. During these visits, participants not only observed lessons but also attended sharing sessions led by school representatives, focusing on topics such as "teaching and learning", "curriculum planning" and "continuing professional development for teachers". These sessions provided participants with a deeper understanding of each school’s educational philosophy and the implementation of the related initiatives. Moreover, participants were also given opportunities to engage in professional exchange with the Mainland teachers, sharing their experiences in instructional design and curriculum development, thereby promoting professional growth.

Visits to Enterprises/ Incorporations
To enhance participants' understanding of national technological development, a visit to Guangzhou Shiyuan Electronics Co., Ltd. was arranged for the participants. During the visit, participants had a deeper understanding on how digital tools support teaching and educational research. Through learning activities, participants also explored the practical applications of digital tools in teaching and learning.

Visits to Cultural Sites
To deepen participants' understanding of traditional Chinese culture, the Study Tour included visits to cultural sites in Guangzhou. Depending on the timing of different Study Tours, participants explored sites such as the Guangdong Museum, Nanyue King Museum and Whampoa Anchorage, gaining valuable insights into the historical evolution of China. In addition, participants also engaged in traditional cultural experience activities, including calligraphy, tie-dye, movable-type printing, filigree enamel, etc., allowing them to further explore the richness of the Chinese cultural heritage.

Student Presentations and Graduation Ceremony
On the final day of the Study Tour, the participants attended a closing ceremony and delivered oral presentation. Representatives from each group enthusiastically shared their experiences and insights gained from various learning activities, reflecting on the Study Tour as both rewarding and inspiring. Representatives from the College of Teacher Education at South China Normal University and the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delivered speeches. They encouraged participants to bring the knowledge and experiences acquired during the Study Tour back to their schools, to share them with the educators in Hong Kong and work together to further promote educational development.
