2025/26 School Year Activities

“MVPA60 Award Scheme” (2025/26)  new!

To tie in with the WHO’s recommendation that children and adolescents aged 5-17 should accumulate at least an average of 60 minutes daily of moderate-to vigorous-intensity physical activities (i.e. MVPA60) across the week, the “MVPA60 Award Scheme” (2025/26) under the “ASAP” Campaign will be organised to help students develop a habit of doing exercise regularly, as well as nurture their positive values and attitudes such as perseverance and willingness to accept challenges.   Participating students who complete the specified level of physical activities within the period from December 2025 to May 2026 will receive an individual award.  Awards will also be given to those participating schools with active participation.

2024/25 School Year Activities

Welcoming the 15th National Games Challenge cum MVPA60 Award Scheme new!

In response to the 15th National Games (NG), EDB has launched a fun race of “Welcoming the 15th National Games Challenge”. Leveraging the sports ambience of the NG, the Challenge aims to enhance students’ interest in participating in physical activities, help them develop a habit of doing exercise and encourage students’ further understanding of the national sports development, strengthen students’ sense of national identity and national pride through reading and sharing the NG related information. Participating students who complete specified tasks within the period from 7 July to 31 August 2025 (8 weeks in total) will receive an individual award under the MVPA60 Award Scheme. Awards will also be given to those participating schools with active participation rate.

Road to Paris Olympic 2024 Challenge cum MVPA60 Award Scheme

The 33rd Olympic Games Paris 2024 (Paris Olympic) will be hosted in this summer.  In response to this major sporting event, the EDB has launched a fun race of“Road to Paris 2024 Olympic Challenge”. Leveraging the sports ambience of the Paris Olympic, the Challenge aims to enhance students’ interest in participating in physical activities, help them develop a habit of doing exercise and enhance students’ sense of national identity and national pride through watching the performance of China National Team and Hong Kong, China Team in the Olympic Games.  Participating students who complete specified tasks within the period from 1 July to 25 August 2024 (8 weeks in total) will receive an individual award under the MVPA60 Award Scheme.  Awards will also be given to those participating schools with active participation rate.

“Active Students, Active People”Campaign – Fun Day 2024

The EDB will organise the ASAP Fun Day 2024 to enhance students' interest in participating in physical activities through demonstration of different sports, Olympic events and emerging sports experiences, etc.  Awards for the “MVPA60 Award Scheme” (2023/24) and “MVPA60 Mobile App Design Competition” will also be presented.

2022/23 School Year Activities

Exciting Asian Games – Vitality Fitness Walking / Running / Skipping Challenge cum MVPA60 Award Scheme

The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 (Hangzhou 2022) has been held from 23 September to 8 October 2023.  In support of this major sporting event, EDB developed a fun race of “Exciting Asian Games – Vitality Fitness Walking / Running / Skipping Challenge” to enhance students’ understanding of the Asian Games and their sense of national identity.  Students surpassed themselves and sweated in the race, highlighting the joy and hope brought by the Asian Games.  PDF (Application Deadline: 21 June 2023)

2021/22 School Year Activities

"Active Students, Active People" Campaign – Short Videos of Vitality Fitness Walking / Running Challenge with WONG Chak-lam, Coleman (Chinese Version Only)

Under the “ASAP” Campaign, the EDB has been organising different activities for primary and secondary students, including a fun race of “Vitality Fitness Walking/Running Challenge” (“Challenge”).  The EDB wishes to express gratitude to WONG Chak-lam, Coleman, elite tennis player, for his support to the production of these two short videos.  Key messages of the World Health Organisation’s recommendation that children and adolescents aged 5-17 should accumulate at least an average of 60 minutes daily of moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activities (i.e. MVPA60) across the week, demonstration of simple exercises and result announcement of the Challenge were included.   Coleman won two tennis Grand Slams - the US Open Junior and Australian Open Junior (Doubles) in September 2021 and January 2022, bringing Hong Kong's fame and success in international sporting events.

Active Students, Active People” Campaign: Elite athletes offer encouragement to students(Chinese Version Only)


Elite athletes cheer for students during the pandemic through video clips.  They share the importance of healthy living and demonstrates a simple fitness exercise so as to encourage students to stay positive and healthy, and take precautionary measures against the pandemic.
