Remarks

  1. The Private School List (hereafter referred to as “the List”) aims to provide parents with essential information on the private schools which have applied to join the List and met the requirements1 set out by the Education Bureau (EDB) at the time of the assessment. Inclusion on the List serves as an informational reference only and does not constitute an endorsement, rating, or recommendation by the EDB.
  2. The school information published on the List is based primarily on information provided by the respective schools. The information published on the List is by no means exhaustive.  Parents may refer to the List alongside with other sources so as to make informed and prudent school choices for their children.  If need be, parents may contact the schools directly for assistance.
  3. The school information published on the List is based on the status as at 1 July 2026 and will be updated as and when necessary. Parents are advised to contact the respective schools directly for the most updated information regarding school fees, curriculum, etc.
  4. While participation in the List is on a voluntary basis, all private primary and secondary schools offering formal curriculum (including international schools) are required to comply with the Code of Practice for Private Schools issued by the EDB.
  5. The operation of private schools is subject to market demand, prevailing economic conditions and other external factors. The List serves as reference information and does not constitute a guarantee by the Government regarding commercial viability or continuous operation of any private school. EDB shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the information contained in the List.

The key areas include compliance with the relevant legislations and requirements, good school governance, and safeguarding the interests and rights of the key stakeholders (including the students and parents).  For details of the “Conditions for Listing in the Private School List”, please refer to Annex 1 to EDBCM No. 55/2026.
