Community Youth Club (CYC)

Annual Parade cum Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

Annual Parade cum Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was held successfully in Queen Elizabeth Stadium on 26 October. It is a big day of gathering for all members from Hong Kong 18 districts. Besides enhancing the bonding and communication amongst the members, Annual Parade is also an event for presenting Level 3 (Purple and Pastel Purple) Badges and Honour Level (Blue, White and Red Stars) Badges to those outstanding members under the CYC Members Award Scheme. Besides, there were medal awards under the Awards of Honours Scheme presented to those principals and teachers who have enthusiastically promoted social services and CYC activities throughout the years. In addition, Team Awards were presented to those schools which have been actively participated in CYC activities.

 

The Guest of Honour of the Annual Parade cum Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was Dr CHOI Yuk-lin,JP, Secretary for Education. There were also Ms Wendy LEUNG (Deputy Secretary of Education Bureau) and Mr HUI Chi-fung (Principal Education Officer of Education Bureau) from the Education Bureau. Also Mr LO Chung-yeung (representative of the Liaison Office of the Central Peoples Government in Hong Kong SAR), Mr SIN Kin-man and Mr CHAN Yan (representatives of the Lions Club International District 303 Hong Kong & Macau, China) were the guests of the event.

 

Annual parade has suspended for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, 98 principals and teachers were presented with medal awards under the Awards of Honours Scheme. 125 schools got the Team Awards.  Around 400 CYC members attained Level 3 and Honour Level badges. The annual parade cum Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region featured a variety of activities, including a video co-produced by more than 100 CYC member schools for celebrating in the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. CYC Ambassador Mr HO Chu-ting led an action-packed rope skipping performance with students. The guests and audience appreciated the event very much.
