Leadership Enhancement Programme for Primary and Secondary School Principals
Description
The Leadership Enhancement Programme for Primary and Secondary Principals (LEP) is a five-to-six-day Mainland study tour, featuring thematic talks, visits to leading enterprises/organisations and cultural sites. The tour is designed to deepen newly appointed principals’ (NAPs) understanding of education, society, culture, economy, and innovation and technology in the Mainland. It also provides a broad perspective on national affairs, development and achievements, with the objective of further inspiring NAPs to develop strategies for leading their schools and enhancing their leadership skills.

Opening Ceremony
At the opening ceremony of the LEP (2025/26), officials from the International and Hong Kong and Macau Training Center of the National Academy of Governance delivered speeches to encourage all the participants.

Thematic Talks
The thematic talks of the LEP covered a wide range of topics, including the Constitution, diplomacy, education, and culture, with sessions titled “The Constitution and Chinese Modernisation”, “Promoting Traditional Chinese Culture”, “International Situation and Major-country Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics”, “Exploring Applications of Artificial Intelligence”, and “Beijing-Hong Kong Principals’ Professional Exchange Session”. The talks aimed to enhance participants’ leadership skills and professional competence, as well as deepen their understanding of educational development in the Mainland.

Visits to Innovation and Technology Enterprises
Participants were arranged to visit innovation and technology enterprises, such as the iFLYTEK Artificial Intelligence Experience Centre and Traffic Control Technology Co., Ltd., to gain deeper insights into the latest developments of technological innovation and artificial intelligence.

Visits to Cultural Sites
Participants visited cultural sites, including the Museum of the Communist Party of China and the Central Gifts and Artifacts Center, thereby strengthening their understanding of Chinese culture and national history.

Symposium and Graduation Ceremony
During the LEP, participants engaged in multiple rounds of professional exchanges on a group basis. They reflected deeply on the learning content, summarised their outcomes, and delivered presentations, with the aim of effectively transforming and applying the knowledge gained to future school management. This would enable them to better shoulder the responsibility of nurturing the next generation. All participants also attended the graduation ceremony, marking the successful completion of the training.
