English Language Resource Materials on National Security Education at the Secondary Level

English Language Resource Materials on National Security Education at the Secondary Level
In addition to developing students’ English language skills, the resource materials aim to deepen their understanding of national security, enhance their awareness of its significance, and foster a sense of responsibility for safeguarding it.

The resource materials consist of four learning units featuring selected reading and multimodal texts that help students explore various topics and major fields of national security. Through engaging reading, viewing, writing and speaking activities, students will gain insights into our country’s latest developments and the significance of safeguarding data security, resource security, food security, and societal security, thereby strengthening their sense of national identity. Suggestions for cross-curricular and life-wide learning activities are also provided to further enrich students’ English learning experiences.

Teachers can make effective use of the learning and teaching resources by integrating them into the relevant modules and units of the school English Language curriculum. They may also adapt the learning and teaching resources with reference to their students’ needs and abilities to cater for learner diversity.
