Support Services


The School-based Support (Kindergarten) Section is dedicated to providing kindergartens with a diverse range of school-based support services.  Through On-site Support and Learning Community, we aim to enhance the capabilities of school curriculum leaders and the professional standards of their teaching teams, enabling them to grasp new teaching trends and promoting the sustainable development of schools.  The supporting themes are in line with the development of kindergarten education and cover the latest curriculum initiatives.  The key areas of support are as follows:


1.

Supporting school curriculum leadership

           
  • Enhancing the professional competence of school curriculum leaders, enabling them to lead their teaching teams to develop a distinctive, sustainable and effective school-based curricula that align with the curriculum initiatives and new trends of educational development

 

2.

Strengthening linkages with curriculum initiatives

          
  • Strengthening linkages with various curriculum initiatives, including national education, values education, Chinese culture, free exploration and catering for learner diversity

 

3.

Promoting inter-school / Mainland–Hong Kong teachers’ professional exchanges

          
  • Establishing learning community to foster professional exchanges among schools, share practical experiences and explore effective teaching strategies
  • Leveraging the expertise and practical experiences of Mainland expert teachers, such as national education, music, physical and art activities, to enhance teaching effectiveness

 

4.

Facilitating effective transition across key stages

          
  • Assisting schools in mastering strategies to facilitate children, including non-Chinese speaking (NCS) children, in transitioning smoothly between different key stages
  • Fostering professional exchanges and collaboration between kindergartens and primary schools through learning community activities
