Gifted Education Fund: Off-school Advanced Learning Programmes (2023/24)
Nurturing talents has always been a focus of the EDB. We are encouraging schools to develop school-based talent pools as a way to strengthen the identification and nurturing of gifted students, as well as nominate more of them to take part in off-school gifted programmes and competitions.
The Gifted Education Fund not only supports the enhanced services of the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE), but also funds Off-school Advanced Learning Programmes (OSALPs) for gifted students. In the current school year, 12 new programmes have been rolled out. Covering themes such as STEAM (including aerospace and artificial intelligence), humanities and social science, as well as apprenticeship and entrepreneurship, these programmes are extensive and challenging. The EDB is strengthening collaboration with the HKAGE, whose representative will be involved in the selection process of all programmes.
Applications are now open for the aforementioned programmes! Parents/ guardians may nominate their children to apply for programmes that suit their abilities and interests.
