Curriculum Guidelines and School-based Curriculum Development

According to the Primary Education Curriculum Guide (2024) issued by the Curriculum Development Council, schools are encouraged to focus on seven key priorities to optimize their curriculum. By developing school-based curricula aligned with the Central curriculum, schools can help students achieve the updated seven learning goals. When designing school-based curricula, schools should consider their educational vision, unique contexts, and students’ developmental and learning needs. Following the guidelines, schools can refine their curriculum planning to consistently provide diverse, appropriate, and meaningful learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. This approach broadens students’ knowledge base and perspectives, fostering lifelong learning and whole-person development. Schools are advised to adopt suitable teaching, learning, and assessment strategies aligned with the learning goals, while providing ample opportunities and space for students to develop their diverse potentials, laying a strong foundation for whole-person development.

Our Beliefs

  • To collaborate with schools in exploring new initiatives, such as values education and STEAM education;
  • To support school development through a collaborative approach;
  • To explore ‘knowledge’ through theoretical and practical perspectives;
  • To examine and adjust continually the relationship between teachers and ourselves as supporters to facilitate interaction and construct knowledge together.
