Designated Professional Development Programme for Newly Appointed Principals
Background
Starting from the 2002/03 school year, principals who are appointed to publicly-funded schools for the first time must undergo a Designated Professional Development Programme for Newly Appointed Principals (NAPs) offered by the EDB. The programme consists of a two-year Professional Development Programme for NAPs and Leadership Enhancement Programme for Primary and Secondary School Principals. It aims at equipping the NAPs with the necessary professional knowledge and skills, and enhancing their leadership capacity.
