'i-Journey' Paid Non-local Study Leave Scheme for Teachers

 

40 ‘i-Journey’ Ambassadors who have successfully completed the ‘i-Journey’ Scheme (Second Cohort) shared their insights gained from the overseas learning experience and implementing their school-based projects at the‘i-Journey’ Fair. They conducted poster presentations and had in-depth discussion on their projects with over 160 teachers and principals to showcase the positive impact their school-based projects brought on learning and teaching.

 

At the 'i-Journey' Fair, 50 teachers joining the 'i-Journey' Scheme (First Cohort) shared the inspirations they gained from their overseas learning and how they implemented school-based projects to promote effective curriculum design, instructional strategies and innovative practices. They presented their projects with posters, and had in-depth discussion with over 180 teachers and principals attending the event.

 

'i-Marble Run', a dissemination event of the 'i-Journey' Scheme, was conducted by 40 teachers who were greatly inspired by a STEM project 'Marble Run' they observed in an overseas school while participating in the 'i-Journey' Scheme. Returning to Hong Kong, they started implementing their school-based projects on Marble Run. Under teachers' guidance, students integrated and applied knowledge and skills from different STEM-related subjects to design and create their marble run machines.

The teachers strong passion has turned 'Marble Run' into reality. Upon completion of their projects, they shared the achievements and outcomes at 'i-Marble Run', in which 19 unique marble run machines were displayed and over 160 attendees were present.

A booth was set up at the Learning & Teaching Expo to introduce the 'i-Journey' Scheme and showcase the school-based projects implemented by the 'i-Journey' (First Cohort) participants. In the 'Meet-the-"i-Journey" Ambassadors Session', nine teachers joining the Scheme gave poster presentations on their school-based projects to share effective curriculum design, instructional strategies and innovative practices.
